Recently in June 2012 I tested tested the pool, drinking fountains, and hot tub at LA Fitness on a free tour just before they closed the pool down for a refinishing. Here are the results from the Hanna meter.
Lap Pool:
TDS – 1560 ppm
pH – 8.31
eC
– 3240
Temp – 83.5
Warm Tub:
TDS – 2230 ppm
pH – 8.25
Ec – 2100
Temp – 105
Drinking Fountain:
TDS – 1045 ppm
pH – 8.1
eC – 1215
Temp – varies
The main concern that I would have here is that the drinking fountains which are used frequently to fill water bottles and drink out of seem to have carbon filters on them but the community tap water is normally around 650. The drinking fountains have more total dissolved solids than the average community drinking water in Ventura county which does not meet the EPA’s secondary standard of drinking water at 500 TDS ppm.
